Allen Creek offers both Extended Day options for preschool children on Wednesdays & Thursdays from dismissal of the morning program until 2 PM.
We also offer After School programs for children in the community ages 4 to 9. These classes are designed for enrichment, building long-term relationships, and fostering a love of exploration, learning, and creativity.

Extended Day Options
Arts@Noon 12:15 to 2 PM (W &Th)
This extension of the morning program is available for children in either the Senior Preschool Class. The children will eat lunch with the teachers, followed by time in the Studio for exploration and creation and finishing with time outside. Pick-up is at 2 PM.
Children will bring their own lunch. Families may sign up for either Wednesdays, Thursdays, or both.
Wednesdays: the focus in the Studio will be on music, including movement songs, instrument playing, and ways to create music and song.
Thursday: The focus in the Studio will be on the exploration and uses of different materials and techniques, color and structure, and the change of seasons.
After School Programs
Music For Young Folks with Katie Chappell Lakin
4:15 to 5:30 for Children in Grades K-2
Children will sing lots of traditional and folk songs, learn musical games, experiment with instrument playing, and begin pre-songwriting skills. The children will be exposed to many folk instruments, such as guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and hand drums. They will learn to play in a coordinated way on bells and percussion instruments. Beginning music theory will be offered. We will use story-songs to end the class each day.
Imagining the Arts with Lesley Criscenti
4:15-5:30 for Children Ages 4-7
5:45-7:00 for Children Ages 8-12
ITA is a weekly inter-related arts program designed to expand your child’s creativity, confidence and the ability to cooperate with teachers and peers. The carefully thought out experiences support emotional well-being, independence, and empathy, as well as intellectual growth and skill building. The class is broad in its approach to the arts and includes experiences in Visual Arts, Music, Creative Movement, and Literature. It also includes: Regular Field Trips, A Family Creative Arts Night, and One Week of Summer Camp
